1. The space of a painting is being calculated from its frame and it can be said that the space of a painting is imaginary and transparent that starts from the frame and remains within it, causing it to become distinctly different from the real idea of space. On the other hand, the space in the sculpture is translucent. The space in sculpture is called “the between” and Martin & Jacobus (2019) noted, “Withsculpture, even if we do not actually touch the material body, we can stillsense the solidity of the material body permeating and animiating thesurrounding space.” This makes sculptural space different and more physical than imaginary painting space.
